The moths?

The moths.

There isn't much to say.
They come and go as they please.

[ and yet, adam always seems to have at least 2 moths with him wherever he goes, hovering a safe distance above and away. ]

They don't tell you their stories, Adam?

We don't speak.

[ not true. adam addresses them sometimes, and they appear to understand him for the most part, but the communication is one way, or has been so far. ]

Sometimes you just have to listen. I enjoy it. Finding out what my creations have done with their lives. You're more of an observer.

Is that what they tell you?

No, that one's from me. Feel free to tell me I'm wrong, though.

Does this not make you an observer as well?

Some might just say I'm nosy.

I find you can learn just as much by standing back as you can by interfering, but one requires less of me.

Sully and I have always viewed our creations as - vivarium of sorts. We plant the seeds and watch them grow. Then he collects whatever is left behind to decay.

[ Except the seeds are everything: plants, animals, people, and all else. ]

I've always preferred it over trying to manage everything. Keeping it all under control rarely lends itself to producing something interesting.

But rarely is not never.

[ — man who has spent many many many years keeping things under control in order to reach one specific goal. ]

[ smart moth(man). ]

It isn't. We tried to control our creations, at first. Maybe we should call them our children? In any case - they were interesting, for a while. Our very own Adam and Eve. And then there's Delphine, of course.

Do you think of them as your children?

[ that sounds... awfully attached. 'creations' works just fine for adam. subject, tools. means to an end. ]

She visits me often.

No. But others would think of them as my children.

[ Is that why Adam and Eve left their uncaring creators? Yes, yes it is. ]

We've been keeping Delphine alive for several centuries now. Sully is very fond of her.
