FIRST IMPRESSIONS.
Defaults to being 6'7". Are you taller than that? That's weird, because you're still looking up when he's talking to you. Reality seems to shift depending on the person he's interacting with, like it's tailored to make him look the height he should be, even if you're freakishly tall. Kind of a 'you only think about what just happened after he's gone' type of deal. He does this with humans/humanoids, but may make exceptions if he feels like fucking around a bit.
LIFE / DEATH ALIGNED.
Life and Death have decided that all sentient beings can be categorized to align with one or the other. Is your character fond of plants and animals? Do they have some supernatural ability related to them? Are they immortal or ageless, without having been touched by death? Then Zéphirin probably thinks you belong with him, and he's going to treat you as such. Not that he'll harbor any animosity for those aligned with his other half, he just has favorite children, is all. Maybe he'll be a little overprotective. Maybe that'll be everyone's problem. Maybe he's the problem. Other themes that may fit with his side: energy, healing, health, vitality, youth. (This is totally subjective, if you think your character's personality type fits in with 'life' than feel free to assume that's who they're with! These are just a few examples.)
LIGHT SUBSTANCE / DARK SUBSTANCE.
Zéphirin Zephir does not bleed regular blood! Instead he releases a light substance he and Death very scientifically refer to the white goo, which can be used for various kinds of magic, as long as it's applied properly. What it's really good for is as a delicacy for those aligned with Life. Effects can be aphro, mood enhancing, physical improvements, and anything you think would be fun for you to play out. On the other hand...
If he consumes something that would normally be Bad For Him (I make up what those things are as I go ok), the way his body heals itself is by turning all that into a dark substance (scientific term: the black sludge) and making him spit it back out. It's very gross, and it drives those aligned with Death absolutely wild (see the effects above). He thinks it's very funny.

A Longer Time Than Anyone Can Imagine Ago, a being split itself into two. The pair shaped up all of life on Earth as we know it, and they have a few stories to tell about their fuck-ups along the way. They think of themselves as Life and Death, though they're really two halves of a being that treat the world we live in as a cosmic vivarium; they can change things, remove old elements and introduce new ones, evolve and eradicate, but nature quite literally takes its course once their hands are off.
— Controls life (creation of animals/plants, enhances growth, creates mutations, controls health and sickness, enhances fertility, etc.).
— While Death adds time to extend someone's life, Life reverses time. so if someone is about to die and he reverts them to their health state from 9 months ago, that means they have 9 months to live from this point on.
— Death adds time but can't reverse aging; Life reverses aging but can't give extra time
— if life and death spend too long apart, life begins to de-age whereas death's aging speeds up. they need to be together every now and then to go back to their ideal states
— They can make someone or something live indefinitely, but it's a 'both keys turn at the same time' situation.
— Unlike Death, Life does give a fuck about people! But he's also a selfish troll bitch who doesn't mind teaching them a lesson every now and then.
